Luxury Wall Decor

What is Luxury? Luxuries are not mere essential extravagances; Luxury often provide stunning pleasure and comfort and in a sense become necessary for sumptuous living. Luxurious wall decor can, even if only momentarily, make your surroundings more generous and meaningful. The rosettes on the walls, the elegant panels and crown molding, the magnificent chandeliers that capture your attention, the roaring fire framed by a hand-crafted fireplace mantel, the pure heavenly feeling of life’s blessings are immediate and can be continuously uplifting. Luxury means keenly appreciating some of life’s finest things despite some sacrifice, whether it is one small piece of chocolate a day, having tea served in pretty china or enjoying fresh flowers on the background of beautifully embellished walls in the house.
Creating Luxurious Wall Decor
Anything you do to embellish your home is an act of love, not a chore. And it is a blessing to have a home where you can create your own quiet luxury every day. While creating your luxury wall decor think in a more Zen-conscious way. Redirect your energy into an endless flow of appreciation for all beautiful things, for a house you are blessed to embellish and use as a resource for inner strength. The Zen of wall decor creation is to get into the flow of beauty and love, to abound in a smooth, meditative consciousness where you feel the rhythms of life and are in touch with the center of this energy. Creating a luxury decor and planning embellishments for your walls can be seen as an overwhelming task. A lot of fatigue and stress is a result of being in a stage of anxiety where you have unrealistic expectations for yourself and become overwhelmed as a result. You must approach creation of your wall decor as an artist in a studio, then home-improvement process becomes creative play. This process is fun. After your wall decor is complete your satisfaction will be much greater. All your efforts will bring undeniable improvements no only in looks of your home but in a quality of living. And after all you can take credit for a job well done, especially if you enjoyed the experience and stimulation of meeting the challenge.
There is a saying “Never economize on luxury”. Let this be your reminder to indulge with little luxuries every day, because without them life may become routine and banal. When you allow some luxury in your life, the necessities seem to take care of themselves. Even one luxury at a time, its good to know, can suffice.

Hello InvitingHome.com! I am from South Carolina. I absolutely love the moldings on your website. I have looked everywhere to find moldings with a lot of designs on them, but most are just way too plain for my taste. Your Georgian Crown molding is simply heaven! It is the dream molding for my home. My son finally moved out so we have a whole room that could be used as a study and we were thinking of making it have a lot of class, but at the same time have a lot of different detail and designs. I also appreciate the country design quite a bit as it makes the whole room feel warm and homey. The Georgian molding design takes care of all of the requirement that i have for my design. It would be absolutely perfect with the leather chairs that i picked out as well as the beautiful curtains.

I usually like to go for a molding with less of an elaborate design. I am actually pretty surprised by the amounts of drama and difference a simple molding can make. I really like the cove moldings. I am a big fan of having a rather dark color in contrast with the white molding. It gives a fresh and clean look while looking very surprisingly innovative.

The trim on the walls is such an interesting idea. I actually just talked to my interior designer about using trim on the walls in my den. I am so excited to see how it turns out. When she explained the idea i was quit skeptical, but seeing and reading about it makes me feel a lot better and have a lot more confidence in how the room will turn out.

I cannot seem to decide what molding to get for my new apartment. I love the Bentley Egg-and-Dart, but the Delegance Egg-and-Dart has more of a pop to it. I have 10′ ceilings. Would that be tall enough to handle the more ornate molding?
- Laura, August 26th, 2008 at 11:19 am
I’ve heard that for ceilings as tall as 10′ need a more ornate molding. That way it will not be lost in the spacious room. So you should definitely go with the second one.
- Keith, August 26th, 2008 at 12:15 pm
I agree. I have 12′ ceilings and I was really not sure what size I needed. I was thought that a large molding would be too much for the room. Ended up getting the large Tiffany molding and it looks absolutely perfect

I just got a marble mantle for m y living room and it is an amazing focal point. It transformed the whole room into something that is amazingly unrecognizable. I never thought that anything could possibly make the room look this great. The reason why I like the marble mantle so much is because it is good looking enough for me to not have to put a whole bunch of random stuff on top of it just to make it have some sort of an effect on the space.
- Ron, August 27th, 2008 at 10:32 am
I am so happy that I can have a house that looks absolutely amazing with all of the little details in the molding and the woodwork around the house. I truly feel as though I am living luxuriously, and it was so easy!

I wasn’t sure if this was the right place to post this, but I just have a big question regarding moldings and installation of corbels and the such. My main question is whether there is a correct way to install moldings, sequence of events wise, painting, mounting and the such. it’s just that I decided to install moldings in the only room of my apartment without moldings and I feel like I messed up a lot. The painter’s tape I used didn’t stick onto the molding and paint got onto it pretty bad, thus forcing me to have to redo it all over. Should I have done it somehow else, somehow that doesn’t involve tape???
- Carl, August 28th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
Hi Carl… I had a similar question before I put up my molding, and so I asked my friend, who is an interior designer. She recommended painting the wall first, and then put the molding up and put the painter’s tape around the edge of the molding to paint the molding. Good luck!

Very excited. thank you very much for inspiration! that is so true. If walls are done right, any piece of furniture in the room looks much ore fancy even if it is not an expensive one. Went through teh inspiration gallery, the wall decor ideas are beautiful! i love it love it love it! gave me so many ideas! Love the thin molding with the corners– now i have to measure my dining room– but i will definitely use it there! I really enjoy decorating my house, but in these two rooms I have really nice furniture, but always felt like something is missing. Thanks to your inspirational pictures I figured out what it was. I need colors on teh walls and wall panels– it will definitely complete the look in my rooms. How difficult is it to create these wall panels? and how long will it take to install them? can we do it ourselves? thanks.
- Jordan, August 29th, 2008 at 6:03 pm
In regards to Carl and Joe - I am an interior designer and Joe’s version of the solution is good for when the molding is already installed. It is much easier to paint the molding BEFORE it goes onto the wall.
- Angela, September 2nd, 2008 at 10:10 am
yeah, I just put up polyurethane molding and your right. I didn’t realize until afterwards what a pain it was to not paint the molding before putting it up. hahaha I def know how to do it now tho. I can say that the customer service at this company is great. They are so kind when anwering my questions. Even when I feel that it was a dumb question lol
- Charles, September 3rd, 2008 at 5:16 pm
I just moved into a new apartment and I have always wondered what the little details in the corners of the doors were. My mom has recently discovered this site and was thinking about doing the same thing at her house. The rosettes in each corner adds a nice touch and turns a boring doorway into a much more interesting one.
- Nicole, September 4th, 2008 at 11:17 am
I had my husband install pilasters around all of our built-in bookshelves. They look absolutely incredible and it adds so much to the room. I recommend them to anyone who is thinking about it!
- Gabrielle, September 4th, 2008 at 2:41 pm
I never knew you could decorate stair cases with stair brackets until I checked out this website - how cool! Yet another way to decorate a space I once thought was unable to be used. What will they think of next??
- Angie, September 4th, 2008 at 3:03 pm
I love how my walls look with the panel moldings and the corners. It makes my house look so luxurious, visiters comment on it all the time.
- Judy, September 5th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
My interior designer recommended me to do a similar design on my ceiling. After we installed a medallion, we used molding to have squares radiate out from the center of the ceiling. It turned our absolutely beautiful.
- Gina, September 7th, 2008 at 8:34 pm
It is amazing at how endless the possibilities are when adding wall decor. I can outline all of my doors and windows with intricate designs, and I can embellish each wall with frieze molding, or chair rail molding.. it really is a wonder that all of these are so easily available, and easily installed too!
- Suzanne, September 15th, 2008 at 4:57 pm
I just bought one of the venetian mirrors from this website and let me tell you, it truly is a work of art in all it’s own. I can’t believe it is handcrafted (in ITALY no less!) and the mirror is so beautiful. I love it.
- Rachel, September 23rd, 2008 at 10:14 am
I’m an interior designer and these panel molding corners are absolutely fabulous. Kudos to you all!
- Joey, September 24th, 2008 at 1:15 pm
As a gift to my wife I decided to get her some beautiful chairs that compliment the little sitting area in our bedroom. She loves them! There are so many things on this website that adds so much to a room. This truly is an amazing website.
- Will, September 24th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
I think adding this kind of decor is amazing. Not only is it beautiful, but it comes at a nice price. My own home has completely transformed from it’s boring old self.
- Jo, September 29th, 2008 at 11:22 am
I just recently added rosettes/corner blocks to the corners of some of the doors in my house and they have really added to the place. I’m thinking about adding them to all of the doors in my house.
- Keith, October 1st, 2008 at 2:20 pm
We have just added a marbel fireplace to our living room and it really makes the place a lot more elegant. If anyone is thinking about adding a luxurious item to their home, I suggest getting one. It’s worth every penny.
- John, October 3rd, 2008 at 4:22 pm
I love the simpler designs like the three color schemes. I love the white wall decor and crown molding displayed here it is beautiful!
Some of the rooms shown here look like a Circus
or Museum! Not my style anyway.
Queen Elizabeth might be excited with the outlandish looking rooms? Not me.
I’m very lucky as my husband is a builder and expert woodworker.
I will be able to show him what I want in my home with your photos. Very nice!
Thanks
- Diane, October 8th, 2008 at 5:29 pm
Hello everyone! I was thinking about replacing the rosettes (corner blocks) that are in the corners of my windows and doors. I was wondering if anyone knew if they should be the same width as the trim, or should they be larger?!
- Jewel, October 17th, 2008 at 9:48 am
I am a contractor and whenever a client comes to me with ideas about wall decorating or adding that type of decor to their home, I recommend this site. The polyurethane mouldings are great and easy to install, and it can add luxury to any home for less.
As for Jewel’s question: I have had clients want the rosettes to be bigger than the trim and the same as the trim. It is really a matter of preference. I suggest making a drawing of both options and seeing which one you prefer. Hopefully this helps!
- Brayden, October 20th, 2008 at 4:00 pm
I am finding more and more people wanting to add more style to their home. With all of the frieze mouldings and panel mouldings available, it is so easy to do! And it’s not too bad of a project either. And I know that this internet company provides quotes for larger projects and try to give the best deals possible, which is a big reason why I keep coming back to them!
- Grant, October 30th, 2008 at 9:58 am
I bought an older house a while back and now I’m looking to fix it up. I’ve been getting a lot of fantastic ideas from this site and I can’t wait to incorperate it into my own home!
- Leslie, November 4th, 2008 at 11:04 am
I wish i had money I love your site it gave me a lot of ideas
Thanks
- Valere, November 6th, 2008 at 6:50 pm
I knwo what you mean Valere, I just bought my first house and now I am broke, but I have SOOO many ideas! I’m thinking about creating a wishlist and asking for stuff for Christmas, lol. Why not, right? It would really enhance my house!
- Macy, November 7th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
Ugh. Don’t even talk about Christmas yet! I was in my car, driving, and flipping through radio stations and I already have heard Christmas songs! But on a side note.. I know what you mean. My mother has actually already asked for some items for her home from this website and I’m thinking about it. It’s definitely a good idea. And everytime she looks at the items she has asked for she’ll think of me. Awesome!
- Janet, November 10th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
I think that’s sweet, Janet. And I can understand where Valere and Macy are coming from. I’ve actually called the customer service line and they helped me out with a quote to save me some more money. And they told me that any order of the white molding that’s on the website that is over $500, the shipping is free. Can you get any better than that? (I’m just trying to say that there are some more ways to save money while buying these beautiful items). Good luck with everything!
- Daffodil, November 12th, 2008 at 10:34 am
That is a great idea! I should get a quote! I’m going to be practically remodeling my whole house, so why not? Thank you for the tip Daffodil!
- Valentina, November 13th, 2008 at 4:50 pm
I think that the molding is great. I am really exciting about the new wainscoting as well. It will look great in our beach house. And so easy to install! I love how this stuff is so light.
- Lauren, November 17th, 2008 at 6:02 pm
I am thinking about installing some chair rail into my house. What is the difference between chair-rail and freize molding?
- Peter, November 20th, 2008 at 12:43 pm
I think chair rail is thinner than frieze molding. I’m not exactly positive though. But I like frieze molding better… there’s more room for design!
- Eva, November 21st, 2008 at 5:49 pm
I’ve actually been looking for wainscoting, some GOOD wainscoting and I was very pleased when I came across this website. I like how it is moisture resistant, so I putting it up in our bathroom. We’ll be painting it white and the walls will be like a ocean gray/blue. It’ll be perfect for our ocean themed master bathroom. My wife is especially excited. lol.
- Ron, November 26th, 2008 at 10:52 am
I actually just bought some and had it installed around the whole perimeter of my bathroom. It is absolutely gorgeous! I’m a painter and when I see a creative moment, I have to take it! I grew up on the cape, so i decided to cut my peices at an angle at the top so that I can create a “fence” and then I painted a 360 degree beach mural on all of the walls. It came out SO beautifully!
- Renee, December 2nd, 2008 at 4:19 pm
I am all about luxury. I grew up not having much, so I have worked hard to get where I am today. I am a huge bargain hunter and I know a good deal when I see them. Finding a way to have a luxurious home is not easy - until you come to this website at least! The moldings available here are incredible. They’re so beautiful and so ornate. And this stuff is so easy to put in! I was so excited when I found this site. This is a project that will provide luxury for my home, and without breaking the bank.
- Jackie, December 4th, 2008 at 12:12 pm
My wife has an eye for luxury as well. Luckily, I can accommodate her tastes with items like these. Putting these beautiful moldings up has made her pretty happy. I even catch her staring at everything around the room. As long as she’s happy, then so am I.
- Earle, December 9th, 2008 at 5:58 pm
My wife is the same way. I was a little worried when she announced that our house was plain and boring and it needed some new decorating. But when she showed me this website, I was a lot less apprehensive about this whole project she has in mind.
- Alfred, December 15th, 2008 at 6:22 pm
Who would not want luxury in their home? I mean, seriously. It really adds so much. And it can be so impressive as well. I am not one of those people who have to have “the best of the best”, but I really do like to surround myself with nice things if I can. And walls are always surrounding me when I’m in the house, right? So I put up some molding. Frieze molding and some really nice panel molding as well. It really added to the room. I recommend it to anyone who is looking to do something that is pretty inexpensive, but beautiful and luxurious at the same time.
- Linda, December 17th, 2008 at 5:26 pm
I completely agree with Linda. We have just added some amazing moldings to our home, and it really does add a lot. It makes the house that much nicer. We’re about to move across the country, so we’ve been trying to make our home a lot nicer to put it up for sale. It’s an easy project that will hopefully pay off in the end.
- Michael, December 23rd, 2008 at 2:30 pm
After reading this article, I realize how undecorated my home is. And now that I think about it, it’s really boring and plain. Hardly any personality. I DID just move, but still, it should be better than this. I think adding some wall decor and splashing some new paint on the wall might do the trick. I’m glad I came across this website while surfing the net.
- Paul, December 24th, 2008 at 1:10 pm
We have done a lot to our house recently. We’ve added some wall decor by putting up panel boxes. It accentuates the room even better than we had imagined. We also added some rosettes to the corners of our doorways, just to accent them a little bit more. It has made our house even more beautiful than we had thought. It looks great, and it an easy project for anyone to do.
- Neal, December 30th, 2008 at 12:19 pm
I’m a contractor and I get a lot of calls about wall decorating, like frieze molding and chair rail and panel molding. I have to say this polyurethane stuff is great and very easy to install. I would even say that it would be easy enough to install without a contractor… although only if you can do that sort of thing.
- Edward, December 31st, 2008 at 2:52 pm
It’s really great to find a good product that is so easy to install and still looks great. And a lot of my own clients love that this is a green product. What more could you love about this stuff?
- Paul, January 2nd, 2009 at 4:31 pm
