The Cathedral & Vaulted Ceiling Molding for Indirect Lighting is specially designed to bring elegant architectural detail and soft ambient illumination to angled ceiling applications. Its refined profile conceals LED strip lighting to create a smooth, indirect glow while enhancing the transition between wall and ceiling. Ideal for vaulted and cathedral ceilings, this molding adds depth, warmth, and a custom finished look to grand interior spaces, bedrooms, entryways, and other open interior areas. Made from lightweight polyurethane, it is easy to install, moisture resistant, and factory primed for paint, making it a stylish and practical solution for decorative indirect lighting.
In regards to Moldings for Indirect Lighting in general the closer you place them to the ceiling the more of a “beam” effect you get. The further down the wall you install the molding the more light that can escape for more of a “glow” effect. I generally recommend to come down from the ceiling the actual height of the molding – this will give a balanced look.

Polyurethane is a high-density material – it’s extremely lightweight and easy to install (and comes primed and ready to paint). It is a green material meaning it’s CFC and formaldehyde free. It is also moisture resistant — so it won’t shrink flex or mold. What’s also great about Polyurethane is that it’s completely customizable and can be treated as wood (you can saw it nail it screw it and sand it). In addition, our polyurethane material comes primed and ready to paint.
